A7N8X Deluxe bios update with newest SiI3112
bios added for newer, larger SATA drives.

ASUS and SilImage own all data I combined. I make no claim to this data.

I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL PROBLEMS. I OFFER NO TECH SUPPORT. THIS IS FOR ADVANCED USERS ONLY. NEVER UPDATE BIOS UNLESS YOU HAVE SPECIFIC PROBLEMS AND A BIOS UPDATE IS NECESSARY TO CORRECT A SPECIFIC ISSUE. READ ALL ASUS DOCUMENTATION FIRST.

FOLLOWING THESE DIRECTIONS MAY MAKE YOUR SITUATION WORSE, BUT THEY WORKED FOR ME.

This bios was made using these instructions  (By Mike, W) for this specific issue. (It will open a new window)

My issue described here (It will open a new window)

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r21316391-sata-not-recognised-hangs-at-bios

(the new drive *[SEAGATE 750 gig Model # ST3750640AS Firmware 3.AAE] shows model number only during boot, never showing the size of the drive and stops there)

OS = WINXP PRO

I had set the RAID bios for one drive before this issue, but am using only one drive now and have not tried RAID since I "fixed" the bios.

Use at your own risk.

Download, then unzip file below for A7N8X Deluxe REV 2.0 + with sil3112 SATA chip..

If it won't work for you, perhaps updating to 1008-D bios first is needed if you have an older version...I don't know.

Never update bios while system is overclocked.

I have heard that clearing CMOS both before and after a Bios update is a good idea (I didn't)
